8 years of Deepika, Ranbir and Sonam...

8 Years back, Bollywood had witnessed the launch of three debutantes - Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor. The awesome trio who debuted on the celluloid with films Om Shaanti Om  and Saawariya, slowly and steadily went on to carve their own niche in tinsel town.

While Deepika Padukone's launch pad was a grand affair with the lady starring opposite Shah Rukh Khan, Sonam Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor's first film Saawariya was no less huge, given that it was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and also starred Salman Khan in the lead. Though one film was superhit and the other one tanked, these stars surely became huge sensations over night.

Today as they complete 8 years in B-town, we trace their journey and see who stands where!

Deepika Padukone's first film was a blockbuster and she was bound to be flooded with offers. Dippy hit the high notes with films like Love Aaj Kal, Desi Boyz, Cocktail, Race 2, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express, Ram-Leela, Happy New Year and Piku and raced herself ahead in the A-listers league despite her share of flops with films like Bachna Ae Haseeno, Chandni Chowk to China, , Karthik Calling Karthik, Lafangey Parinde, Break Ke Baad, Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se, Aarakshan and Finding Fanny.

With films like Tamasha and Bajirao Mastani up her sleeve, things look all bright for the lady!

Ranbir Kapoor's debut may not have worked well at the box office, but the actor surely backed most of promising debut awards for that year. His debut film was followed by movies like Bachna Ae Haseeno, Wake Up Sid, Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani, Rocket Singh, Raajneeti, Anjaana Anjaani, Rockstar, Barfi, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Besharam, Roy and Bombay Velvet.

While with Wake Up Sid, Rockstar, Barfi & Yeh Jwaani Hai Deewani, Ranbir hit it out of the park and won applause and awards for his performance, the rest of the films tanked with Bombay Velvet being the worst of the lot.

Currently, he may have hit a rough patch in his career, but with Tamasha, Jagga Jasoos and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in his plate, things surely seem to be in favour of RK!

Sonam Kapoor too faced a dud in the form of her debut film but that didn't deter the actress, as people were all praise for her work. Her filmography may not boast of impressive hits, but critically, the lady has surely made a name. Be it Aisha, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Raanjhanaa, Khoobsurat, I Hate Luv Storys, Sonam truly shined in the films! With a massive movie like Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Neerja Bhanot biopic in her kitty, Sonam is absolutely here to stay!

Meanwhile, do tell us what do you guys think of these three amazing actors - Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor's 8 years journey in Bollywood?!

Watch The Trailer of the SRK - Kajol Starrer DILWALE

Watch the high-on-action trailer of Rohit Shetty's Dilwale starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon. The trailer will mesmerize you with the wonderful cinematography, which is followed by all the gangster action. Shah Rukh Khan has some interesting lines in the trailer, including, "Hum shareef kya hue, puri duniya badmash bangayi."

Kajol looks lovely and so does Kriti Sanon. Kajol and SRK display their usual crackling chemistry when Kajol is seen saying to SRK, "Bade Dilwale type ki ho na."

Varun seems to be pulling off a Tusshar Kapoor from Golmal, if you know what I mean. But the twist is, he is also seen saying, "Main aapke Mang main Sindhoor barna chahta hu," to SRK.
The next half of the trailer has all the action. Cars go flying all around and there are guns and gangsters everywhere. The second half also shows the reunion of SRK and Kajol after a good 15 years.

SRK seems to be out to avenge an inustice as he says, "Dhoka mere saath hua hain. Jo karna hain, main karunga."

The trailer ends with SRK telling Kajol, "Mira, aaj ke baad mujhe apna chehra mat dikhana, jaan le lunga."

Well, have a dekko and decide for yourself. Let us know how you like this one!

The movie is all set to release on December 18 along with Bajirao Mastani.

Queen of Fear Bipasha Basu

Actress Bipasha Basu says she has ceased doing multiple movies a year as she wants to enjoy life and not work round the clock like other actors.

“My priorities in life are not like the other actors. My priority is not to work 24×7, 365 days an year. It’s exhausting. I don’t like my calendar managed more than one month. When one month is over, I want freedom and everyone to disappear and leave me alone.

“I like my work but everything in my life is like…I want to decide when to do what. It’s not a do-or-die situation,”  told Bipasha.

The 36-year-old actress, who made her debut in a supporting role in 2001 with “Ajnabee”, bagged her first leading role in Vikram Bhatt’s horror film “Raaz” in 2002.

Bipasha has been a part of horror films like “Raaz 3”, “Aatma” and this year’s release “Alone”, but the actress says there is no conscious decision to stick to the genre.

“Horror and supernatural films have been more in the last three years because the numbers of films I do are less now. I chose to do one film a year. I’ve been working since 2001. I want to now live my life, the money I’ve earned I’ve to use it, I want to enjoy my life, otherwise when will I do? After getting old?” she asked.

The actress, however, is happy being called “Queen of Fear” and feels proud of the tag, which she says is her “domain”.

“I have a very deep connection with horror genre. I’ve been crusading it since 2002. It was never planned. But the stories which have excited me in the last three years have been horror…

“It’s beautiful when people say you’ve got the tag of ‘queen of fear’. I love it as it is something which no one has ever achieved in the entire Diaspora of Hindi films, from the time it started till now. It’s my domain.”

I told mom that I wanted to do shoots as of Sunny Leone

A dream of being a porn-star is a dream of Archana’s mother but except that she also has the dream of her own. She has the dream of being a dancer and a dream of being a designer. She said, “I will be doing the course of designing after completing my studies.” She also said that
she has deactivated her Facebook but she is still available on her Tweeter and she also two different accounts on Tweeter. She has a different kind of thinking on the comments and pictures of Facebook. She said,” Yes, my pictures had been photo-shopped, even superstars had those and yes I too got it.” She told that she didn’t even knew that Facebook will be making this a big issue like this. She even added she knew that Facebook is a good way of becoming popular but didn’t knew it would happen in this way.

Don’t know where my future is headed :
I told mom that I wanted to do shoots as of Sunny Leone wearing shorts or noodein order of becoming a simple normal actress. I will be continuing my studies but this is my biggest aim which is as equal to my body and soul. First I had the dream of becoming a simple actress but later when I watched the shoot of Sunny Leone then I thought of shooting in short dress and doing an extra thing so I became as Sunny Leone. She had even done sexualmovies, shoots on short dresses and I will even accept the other things of Sunny Leone except sex. I had not heard about her life much but I had seen her photo-shoots.

Full support from Father :
My dad has friends on London and they had called me there but I had the dream of studying designing course that’s why also I will be going London and will be doing shoots there and my dad has the full support. I had even told many reporters that my dad helps me to wear short dresses. Without his support it is not possible and even on my nacked shoots he is there to support me.

Sunita Paneru, Mother of Archana Paneru :
My mother land is Nepal, born and raised here. After my marriage I went Mumbai. After staying there for 15 years I returned back here and its been 8 long years. I am Paneru from Dadheldhura and my home town is Bohora. I dreamed of becoming an actor, singer, person with every kind of knowledge and so on but it never got real. In context of our country females are never supported to study, to do as they wish and to do whatever her parents told them to do so as soon as I told them what were my aim my parents derived me to get married and that’s where all my dreams and aims were shattered away. So I didn’t got chance to do what I wished and dreamed so I am supporting my daughter to do those things what she wants to do, where she can really be happy. That’s my only wish and I have two children, they are my eyes out there and my whole whole world.

To be a porn-star is a taboo but I don’t think so, becoming a porn-star is never a wrong thing for me. The aim of my daughter is to be a porn-star and I’m doing what I need to do to fulfill her dream but its not that I’m trying to destroy her life. Don’t go out, don’t be a porn-star, don’t wear shorts are the things said by the society in order to keep them restricted.

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo: Movie Review

$

Prem is back! Superstar Salman Khan is back in his most loved avatar - Prem - and he is bang on! In the last two films, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and now, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Salman has proved that he knows best what commercial entertainers are all about. They brighten our festivals, spread joy and make for the most delectable family outings and sometimes without breaking bones or cars.

With Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, he is nothing like Chulbul Pandey of Dabangg, he is nothing like Lovely Singh of Bodyguard, he is not Kick's Devil and neither is he Zoya's Tiger from Ek Tha Tiger. He is all heart and all Prem and Barjatya has left no stone unturned to ensure that he makes his favourite actor and favourite character return in style.

To many, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo might sound and seem dated. But Sooraj Barjatya knows how to use long lost values as a strength in his movies. It is a quaint treat for those who have forgotten what family entertainers are all about. PRDP, with nearly three hours' staggering runtime and songs-every-10-minutes, can often be taxing but Salman laces it with an irreverent charisma, and makes it completely different from anything he has done in the recent past.

To those who've tried playing double roles in films in recent years, take a tip from the superstar. Afterall, that's one thing experience teaches you : how to be creative with your roles. Salman, in his twin characters, is starkly different. One, the affable Prem Dilwale (don't miss the irony of the name!) and other, the crown prince of Pritampur - Vijay. The former wears a dhoti and dances in Ramlilas, the other is a fencing expert and speaks fluent French while he reaches out for his champagne. When a mishap makes the crown prince invalid, the other steps in to fill in his spot. In one scene, while Prem is still getting a hang of Vijay's mannerisms, in a matter of seconds Salman shifts his demeanour effortlessly from playing Vijay to being Prem. There are two such striking scenes in the film in which the actor shines. It is so refreshing to see him add variety to his roles, after years of being accused of sleepwalking through characters.

Kudos to Bhai for making some bold choices this year - from underplaying the vulnerable Pawan in Bajrangi Bhaijaan to being the epitome of an 'ideal man' as Prem in this one.

But as a standalone film, PRDP's story is as predictable as it gets, often silly, but Salman never lets these negatives play a spoilsport. The most disappointing thing about it, however, is Sonam Kapoor and her complete lack of chemistry with Salman. She is extremely superficial as Maithli. Though, we give it to her that she has the look and mien of a gorgeous princess, but that's about it. A large part of the film drags because the two can't show any onscreen magic. As the duo totter between songs, it is visible that they fail at recreating the Rajshri romance alike Salman-Madhuri or for that matter even Shahid and Amrita.

Another mistake Barjatya makes, is that never dives headlong into describing the root cause of the terse family relations. The fair amount of flashbacks don't quite feel real and the patch-ups are over-simplistic. A lot of actors in the film also go unused. Neil Nitin Mukesh and Swara Bhaskar are forgettable in their underwritten parts. Armaan Kohli is menacing but hardly has a presence. Amongst the supporting cast, it is Anupam Kher as Diwan who is first-rate. His camaraderie with Prem and his love and loyalty for Vijay, is something to relish.

A die-hard Salman fan can vouch for the fact that a Salman Khan film is all about Salman. In this film that is not the case. You can hardly find any glimpses of his swag-filled charm. For the love of Sooraj, Salman is clearly the most sincere he has been in a long time. He holds together the loose plot and makes the movie a delight to watch. It is not everyday you find a story that attempts to reinstate family values. Barjatya's simplicity is the film's biggest strength and that he puts forward in the garb of ornate frames and beautiful palaces. The story is as simple as it has always been .... it's all about loving your family.

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo makes for a sparkling watch this Diwali. Fall for the grandeur, reconnect with values and try not to seek much of a story. Though we must warn you that sitting through a three-hour long film can be daunting in times of web-series and short films. But that's what Barjatya is all about. Take some time out of your busy schedules to return to a bygone era, of simpler things, family films and Prem - who is waiting for you with his arms open.

Madonna Delivers Heartbreaking Speech On Paris Attacks

"Why am I up here dancing and having fun, when people are crying over the loss of their loved ones?"

Madonna showed the world the power of music. During a performance of her "Rebel Heart" tour in Stockholm, Madonna paused to ask the crowd to participate in a moment of silence for the victims of Friday's attacks in Paris and their families.
"It's been very hard for me to get through the show up to this point and not forget what happened," she said, her voice cracking with emotion. "I need to take this moment to acknowledge the tragedy ... and the senseless endings of precious life that occurred last night in Paris."
Madonna pledged to continue to perform in the wake of the attacks, saying that doing otherwise would amount to letting the attackers win.

"Why am I up here dancing and having fun, when people are crying over the loss of their loved ones," she asked the audience. "That is exactly what these people want to do. They want to shut us up. They want to silence us. And we won't let them. We will never let them."
At one point, the pop star reached into the crowd for a tissue to dry her tears.
After the moment of silence, she performed "Like a Prayer" and asked the crowd to sing together. Illuminated by the thousands of cell phones waving in unison, Madonna was clearly moved by the outpouring of emotion from the audience.
"The way we change the world is that we change the way we treat one another on a daily basis," she said. "We must start treating every human being with dignity and respect."

I Still Love Ranbir: Deepika

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are busy promoting their movie Tamasha. The Imtiaz Ali movie, which is all set to release on November 27th, is much awaited by everyone. In an interview with Times of India, Deepika spoke about her true feelings for her Tamasha co-star Ranbir Kapoor.

When asked if she still loved her ex-boyfriend and Tamasha co-star Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika said, "Of course I do. I don't think that every feeling has to be broken down as I don't believe that emotions are unidimensional anyway. Feelings and emotions are very layered. He is someone I have always loved and someone I will always be extremely possessive about and very protective about. When I read about him, when I see his work, good bad whatever it is, I have my own monologue that is going on in my head and which I do share with him. I might even pick up the phone and talk to him immediately. There was a phase he was going through where I felt that his behaviour had changed a bit (I didn't know it was intentional or had he become that person or it was misinterpreted). But it bothered me a lot. We are not in each other's lives to know whether the change was permanent or it was completely fabricated. But the point is the things about him that were being reported, I felt that I had the right to pick up the phone on him and tell him that what was going on was not correct.

Similarly with his film, the minute I see his work, I will tell him. Likewise, he will see my films and tell me what he liked and what he didn't like. I can pick up the phone on him and say that why did you do Besharam. Of course, we are individual people at the end of the day and will still do what we have to do, but we have that comfort with each other where we can say that to each other."

When Ranbir was asked the same question, he said, "Yes of course. The amount of love I have for Deepika is like family. It's very warm, it's about care, about being proud of her. The facet of love, care and respect has changed but changed for the better. It's not your immature I love her kind of feeling. It's mature and that's come with age. Also, we have both positively moved on with our lives."
Well, what do you think of that. Aren't these two the cutest ex-lovers?

Deepika is a flirt: Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone have come a long way since they broke up a few years back. They are now good friends and loving colleagues. In an interview with Times of India, both the stars revealed what they do and do not like about each other.

When asked what he does not like about Deepika Padukone, Ranbir said that, "She is a flirt. She is working too much and should not burn herself out. She should take more holidays and breaks and should reserve herself, which she has started doing now."

Well, Ranbir also had a list of things that he did like about Deepika. He said, "(I like) Her values that come from her parents. She can many a times say the wrong thing, do the wrong thing, be obnoxious, can be rude, can be sweet but, it's all coming from a place of organic sense of things, I don't think she is ever saying something because somebody else has said it. It's coming from what she thinks and she is very positive.
If you are doing an interview or a scene with her there is a lot of care she will take for her co-actor or director. She does not have a hero-centric mind and is not a superstar who likes to steal the limelight from others."
Well, what do you think about that?

Salman Khan protege Zarine Khan, who got her big break in Bollywood with Veer, opposite the superstar, in 2010, will be seen scorching the screen with her co-stars Karan Singh Grover and Sharman Joshi in the erotic thriller Hate Story 3.

However, the actress chose not to tell her mentor about doing the film, which, as the promo suggests, has a lot of kissing and bold scenes in it. Zarine confesses that she was too scared to tell Salman or discuss with him when she got the offer.

“No, no, I did not tell Salman about it. I am very intimidated by him. I know for the fact that he doesn’t belong to this school of thought, so I somehow felt that he will not like this idea of me doing the Hate Story franchise. I did not have the guts of going and telling him that I was doing Hate Story 3. But then, he got to know from outside, and recently, when we were on the Bigg Boss show to promote the film, he told me that the promo looks good. I felt happy about it.”

Zarine continues, “At the back of my head I was thinking, I don’t know if he will approve of this. I did not want to take panga with him, make him angry or upset him, hence I chose not to tell him.”

She further adds, "I am in touch with Salman, if it was not for him I would have never entered the industry and become an actress, which was never on the cards for me. But then, I have to take care of my own self. He is a big person, he is super busy and I don't want to bother him every now and then. But I know that if I get stuck somewhere, he is just a call away."

Tamasha is Inspired by Radha-Krishna: Ranbir

Ranbir Kapoor has revealed that director Imtiaz Ali has taken references from the immortal love story of Radha-Krishna for their upcoming romantic film Tamasha.

The film, also starring Deepika Padukone, is about Ved (Ranbir), who loses himself in the process of conforming to the standards set by him and his family. Deepika's Tara enters his life to remind him of his true self and helps him realise his potential.

"Tara is an Indian woman rooted in our value system but she is very modern in her approach. Imtiaz goes back to the time of Radha-Krishna," said Ranbir.

"Radha sacrificed herself because she knew Krishna had potential and she told him 'You go, be yourself, even though you don't want to be with me; but I will sacrifice my love for you because you can become something'. I think he was really inspired by that and the character of Tara is also based on that," Ranbir said in an interview in New Delhi.

Deepika said that the story of Ved and Tara is relatable and very relevant in today's time, where she feels relationships have become mechanical.

"Tamasha is about Ved, who is not doing what he wants to do. There is a lot of pressure from him, from his family to be a certain person and he starts losing himself in the process and he starts becoming somebody that he is not. He requires a Tara in his life to pull him out of that situation and make him understand the person that he really is. This is a story which is very relevant and I think people will relate to Ved and Tara," she said.

Though the film has a profound story, the actors say it is told in a manner entertaining enough for the viewers.

"It is an Imtiaz Ali film at the end of the day and it is an intense and passionate love story. But it is also told in a very entertaining manner. It is very relatable," Deepika said.

This is the first time Ranbir and Deepika are working with Imtiaz together. Ranbir worked with the director in 2011 movie Rockstar, Deepika has collaborated with Imtiaz for Love Aaj Kal.

Ranbir feels that female characters in Imtiaz's films are different from those in other movies.

"Imtiaz's women characters have a lot of Indian values but are also modern. The kind of language she speaks, the clothes she wears, the ideologies she has, is something we have not seen on screen," he added.

The on screen couple said that they feel lucky that they never had to compromise on their wishes to comply with the expectations of their family.

"We have been fortunate that we have families, who have been supportive of our career decisions. He, of course, comes from a film family so his parents are proud that he has become an actor but I am sure if he wanted to do something else, they would have supported him in that too. I don't come from a film family but my parents support my choice," said Deepika.

"But there are many people who don't live the life they want to live; they are constantly living for other people, or setting targets for themselves that are a little unrealistic or are in professions, where they don't really enjoy themselves. Maybe it is the money which is the draw or sometimes life throws itself on you in a way where you have no option but to do something that you are not keen on doing," the actress said.

Tamasha will releases on November 27

After a slow start on Friday, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone starrer Tamasha has picked up pace and has had a strong opening weekend.

The Imtiaz Ali film earned Rs. 14.12 crores on Sunday, taking the opening weekend total of the film to Rs. 38.23 crores in India. This is fairly good because the movie has crossed the opening weekend totals of films like Baby (36.07 cr), Dil Dhadakne Do (37.05) and Tanu Weds Manu Returns (38.15 cr) and has got the 8th biggest opening weekend of 2015. Tamasha opened to mixed reviews from both the critics and the audience and the real test of the film starts from today. How well the film holds on in the weekdays will give us a clarity on its lifetime total, given that it doesn't have any competion till Thursday.

Post Thursday, it looks the film might face stiff competition from Karan Singh Grover, Sharman Joshi, Daisy Shah and Zareen Khan starrer Hate Story 3 which has been grabbing eyeballs for its bold content.
