Big names, big achievements but celebs often take a step back after a stint of flops. Not everyone face the same fate in the box office. But despite flops, there are some actors who have made a smashing comeback. We at Pinkvilla take a look at some of the popular actors who miraculously brought their careers back from the dead:

Amitabh Bachchan
Here, we are not at all talking about Big B’s popularity. Amitabh Bachchan’s career graph rose high with his Television screen presence as ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ host in 2000. This television quiz show earned Big B huge success as he presented his real self. KBC is in true sense regarded as Amitabh Bachchan’s comeback and established him as a brand.

Anil Kapoor
The ‘Jhakaas’ actor starred in many films, but 2008 film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ made Anil Kapoor an international face. Films like ‘Salaam-e-ishq’, ‘Tashan’, ‘Bewafaa’ didn’t help his career much.

Sridevi
Sridevi made a solid comeback after a hiatus of 15 years and what a comeback! After 1997 release ‘Judaai’, Sridevi was seen in films like Kaun Sachcha Kaun Jhootha and Meri Biwi Ka Jawaab Nahin and no one even noticed. But Gauri Shinde’s ‘English Vinglish’ gave her a huge success and appreciation.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
After ‘Jodha Akbar’, which became a massive hit, Aishwarya faced a string of flops with ‘Guzaarish’, ‘Raavan’, ‘Action Replayy’ and ‘Robot’ all in one year – 2010. She then concentrated on her daughter Aaradhya and five years later she is returning to the silver screen in a thriller film ‘Jazbaa’. We are eagerly waiting to see how the fate of this gorgeous lady fares in the box office. Oh, and she also has Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. A pretty good line up we say.

Lara Dutta
She made us laugh our lungs out with her Emily...oops...we mean Imli act in ‘Singh is Bliing’. This film was much required as this Ms. Universe 2000 didn’t see such a commercial success in her Bollywood career. Thirteen years in the industry, Lara Dutta is receiving the much deserved attention and she too has some power-packed films like ‘Azhar’ and ‘Fitoor’ in her kitty.

Salman Khan
Our ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’s career hasn’t been a smooth sail all time. While he returns as ‘Prem’ in Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, Salman Khan’s career saw a setback with a series of flops post ‘Tere Naam’ in 2003. In 2009, ‘Wanted’ put Salman Khan on the Top Khan pedestal once again.

Vidya Balan

‘Parineeti’ girl Vidya Balan is the actor who gave birth to the new term ‘Shero’ (She+Hero) in Bollywood after her one-woman performance in ‘The Dirty Picture’. Though her earlier films ‘Ishqiya’ and ‘Paa’ gave her the critical acclamation, but films like ‘Thank You’, ‘Dum Maaro Dum’ put her career on a backseat. Then came ‘The Dirty Picture’ and ‘Kahaani’ which catapulted her career to the big league.
